Privacy Policy for Birdwatching Bible
Birdwatching Bible is part of Bible Media Network, which runs several websites.
What we measure, and who helps
We count visits so we know which pages help. This site uses Google Analytics 4, which records the pages you view, roughly where you are (city level), your browser and device, how you arrived, and what you do on a page: how far you scroll, how long you stay, and whether you click a shopping or outside link. Google Analytics sets two cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ plus our site's code) when a page loads.
Cloudflare hosts this site. It counts page loads and page speed with its Web Analytics tool, which Cloudflare says uses no cookies or local storage, and it keeps a server log of each request: the address asked for, the page you came from, your browser details, your IP address, and the country, region and city that address maps to. We use the log to run and protect the site and to see where readers come from. We keep it in our own store.
If you join the newsletter, your email address goes to BeeHiiv, which sends the emails and records opens and clicks. You can unsubscribe in any email.
When you click a link to Amazon, that company sets its own cookie and tells us a click happened. We do not see what you buy.
We do not run advertising trackers or social-media pixels on this site. To stop Google Analytics, install Google's opt-out add-on or block cookies in your browser. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write to admin@desolateranch.com. We answer within 30 days.
Children Under 13
Our Site is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete such information promptly and discontinue that child's use of the Site. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us should contact us immediately at the address above.
Your Privacy Rights
California Residents (CCPA): Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete personal information, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information above.
European Union Residents (GDPR): If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data; to restrict processing; to data portability; and to object to processing. You also have the right to raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, by posting a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
